The Challenge is the UK’s leading charity for building a more integrated society. We work on a local level to connect people together across all ages and walks of life.
National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government backed programme that helps young people build skills for work life and transition into adulthood. Our NCS programme is made up of a series of challenges where participants build and develop trust, responsibility, understanding and empathy for themselves, each other and their communities.
Participants face fears, develop confidence and bond with team mates on an action packed residential.
Team mates work together to learn a new skill in sport, media, photography, music, drama or enterprise in a university setting.
The Dragons’ Den Pitch comes at the end of an intense three weeks in which the young people will have learnt a lot about themselves, each other and how they can impact their communities. They have spent a week formulating a campaign that will benefit their neighbourhood. They now have the chance to present their ideas to you so they can turn their plans into a reality. On this day you make a huge difference in two ways:
HOW THE DAY RUNS
Please arrive at the venue at 1.30pm
The Assistant Programme Manager will run through your role and will be available to answer any questions you may have
2:00 – 3:00: The Pitch
The five teams will present their ideas to you in a short presentation. You will have some time after each presentation to ask clarifying questions.
3:00– 3:25: Deliberation
As Dragons, you will make a group decision about:
3:25 – 3:45: The Decision
Provide feedback to the groups on their project ideas and communicate your financial decision.
